Easier EMC Certification

ASTA BEAB Certification Services and Japan Quality Assurance are working together to help manufacturers secure vital EMC certification for Europe & Japan

ASTA BEAB Certification Services and Japan Quality Assurance (JQA) are further developing their longstanding co-operative partnership in international certification. By working together the two National Certification Bodies (NCBs) have proved instrumental in helping leading manufacturers to achieve the safety approval of their products relevant to the requirements of each other's market region. This success in working collaboratively for the benefit of industry has lead the two NCB's to extend their level of co-operation even further to include a provision for reciprocal acceptance of each-others EMC Certification as a basis for securing the equivalent EMC certification within their local territories.

The extension to the agreement means that EMC Certification based on testing carried out by an ASTA BEAB accredited laboratory in Europe can be used as the basis for meeting Japanese EMC Certification regulations and vice versa. "It was a logical step," confirms ASTA BEAB CEO Mike Vint. "Both our regions have EMC regulations governing electro-technical products. We now simply recognise the EMC expertise of our sister certification body so that manufacturers can more easily secure EMC certification - reducing their time to market and helping them to move into a new foreign marketplace."
