Special Announcement: For ASTA Diamond Products

We are changing our '7 year re-test' approach to the new 'Product Review' system

The ASTA Diamond Mark Scheme previously required that after 7 years from the date of initial Approval tests, products were subject to complete re-testing to enable the Approval to continue for a further 7 years.

We are replacing this with a Product Review with immediate effect.

The Product Review will not necessarily require a full re-test.
ASTA BEAB will conduct a full review of your licence no later than 5 years from date of testing for the original Approval (or last Review) .

This review will include but not necessarily be limited to the following items:

. Review of history of testing (Including Annual Type Tests conducted during the past 5 years)
. Any change from the standard
. Comparison of samples from current production to reference samples
. Comparison of documents (BOM, drawings.)
. Confirmation of the product details and required variants to be included on the licence
. Any issues raised in quality assessment reports

NB: A product review may take place after a shorter period than 5 years if the applicable standards change (or are amended)

As a consequence of this change, Licences will be issued without a 'valid until' date but with the Review date stated. Hence Licences will not routinely be re-issued every 12 months.

Benefits for Licence Holders:

. Lower cost of testing to maintain Approval
. Increased frequency of Review to ensure awareness and/or Approval to the latest applicable standards
. Licences issued for up to 5 years rather than replaced every year (Licences can be re-issued more frequently on request)
