ASTA BEAB are pleased to announce that Legrand Electric have been awarded a licence for their Powertrack busbar trunking system. The system has been approved to BSEN and IEC 60439-2:2000 and includes certification under the IECEE CB scheme.
Traditionally, whilst covering a wide range of products. IEC 60439-2 has been associated with heavy busbar systems carrying hundreds or thousands of amps. It can also be applied to lower rated systems as are now used in office and light industrial installations.
High and medium power systems are traditionally tested at high current laboratories on a particular set of samples and are claimed to be "Certified". "Certification" may cover complete compliance or be limited to certain clauses of a Standard. These type tests prove the design concepts and are more practical for low volume, custom built systems.
For "Product Approval" the trunking system must be tested for complete compliance to 60439-2 and the manufacturing site must be registered by ASTA BEAB to ISO 9001. This ongoing surveillance, considered with annual testing, ensures that not just the type tested samples but all production continues to meet the Standard. This is the highest status that can be awarded and results in permission to use the prestigious ASTA Diamond Mark as the symbol of ultimate product quality.
Legrand join Electrak and Electropatent with fully approved busbar trunking systems in the range up to 100A.
